Springtime is here! Every year, members of Pack 1 come together and help clean up the Mendon town beach. If you can spare some time next Saturday(an hour or two) please bring some rakes down and pitch in! Many hands make light work. I hope to see you there! |

Summer camp information for Camp Resolution in Bolton, MA is available. Options include:
Week-long day camps beginning the week of July 8th. Day camp includes bus transportation from Mendon.
There is a $40 discount if you book by May 1.

Mendon-Upton school building will be closed on February 9th, so we are rescheduling the Blue and Gold to March 2nd, from 11:30 to 2:30.

All Scouts will cross over at our annual Blue & Gold Banquet this Saturday -- Scouts should do their best to wear their uniform for this occasion.
Note the event is at Nipmuc Regional High School (90 Pleasant Street, Upton). Also note the start time is 11:30, not 1:00 as earlier calendars reported.
We are aware of the likelihood of a severe winter storm on Friday and possibly into Saturday. We will do our best to stay on top of the news and conditions, and update our plans accordingly. At this time (Wednesday) we are still on for Saturday. |

Greeting fellow Scouters, Scout Sunday, the first Sunday in February, is here. St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish will be holding a Scout Sunday Mass at the 8 am Mass on Sunday, February 3rd. ALL scouts, male or female, regardless of denomination, are invited to attend. ALL scouts and adult leaders should wear Class A+ uniform (shirts tucked in, no hats, please!) Scouts should plan on sitting with their troop, den, crew etc. We will have several pews reserved front and center for the scouts. Scouts may choose to sit with their families, but please note we did not reserve pews for 'families' in the front. FLAGS: Troop/crew/pack flags are welcome. BRING YOUR OWN FLAG STAND. We will be setting up the flags to the right of the alter as you enter. We are in need of scouts to bring the gifts (bread and wine) for presentation to the priest. WE WOULD LIKE ONE YOUNGER GIRL SCOUT (Brownie or Junior) and ONE CUB SCOUT (Wolf or Bear) to perform this task, along with ONE or BOTH adult leaders. The scouts selected for this task (and the adult leader) should be familiar with the offering of the bread and wine at mass. The pinewood derby is coming this weekend: - Your car must be dropped off on Friday, January 18th, between 6:00 and 8:30 for weigh-in. Also bring your completed pizza form (attached) and payment if you have not done so already.
- The derby itself is Saturday, January 19th, beginning with the pizza party at 5:00. Races will begin afterward, with younger Scouts race earlier, and older Scouts racing later. The set of rules are unchanged from 2012, see

The next pack meeting will be on Tuesday, November 13th ( Calendar of Events). This month's meeting will include our annual space derby. Refer to the attached document for guidance and regulations. Have fun!
Remember a tip from the last pack meeting: The wood is soft enough that a vegetable peeler makes for a fine whittling tool. |

Pack 1's overnight this year will be at Battleship Cove on the night of March 23rd-24th. This will be a great event for Scouts and parents alike! Registration form and further information is attached below. Register at the October pack meeting to guarantee your spot! |
